The whole situation is absurd. It's a media led frenzy that has done nothing to help the issue of racism in football whatsoever.
Having read every page of the 120 page report by the kangaroo court i can only conclude it's a farce of the highest order. If the case had gone to a civil court like the John Terry case, it would be laughed out of court. There is no way that Suarez would have been convicted.
Let me make it clear..if i thought Suarez was racist i would want him out of the club immediately. I do not condone racism in the slightest.
The whole handshake issue has been completely blown out of proportion as well.
As usual, John Barnes, the victim of some of the most offensive racist behavior I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing, speaks the most sense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4_Im6kq7uY
Getting kicked for swearing or spamming the chat was superb. It's what separates childish public servers from a more mature environment to race in.
CTRA was the best thing that ever happened to LFS,
"This was good?" Yes, it was very, very good. Nothing before or after in LFS ever got close to providing the quality of racing on public servers, the great atmosphere to race in or the quality of community.
I will be forever grateful to Becky, Sam and the rest of the peeps involved for providing the place that gave me my most enjoyable times in sim racing.
EDIT: And grateful to the many fine racers who made all that fun racing possible of course! Nice to see so many familiar names in this thread. Great memories
No doubt in my mind that there is something weird about iRacings physics. I doubt the real life Skippy is quite as prone to strange oversteer as it is in the sim, but a smooth driving style will certainly help eliminate a lot of it.
When i say it's back to being the fun car it used to be i'm not claiming it's "right" But it is a lot more manageable with plenty of practice and a good amount of focus on smoothness, especially coming off the brakes. Just braking hard and coming off them quickly transfers all the weight to the front and will inevitably result in the rear end letting go.
Just focus on smooth downshifts, and smooth release of the brakes. If you're left foot braking keep a small amount of throttle on (roughly 10% at a guess)
Once you've got the smoothness sorted you can concentrate on doing it all quicker.
I'm no expert, but the words "training car" rarely translates into "easy to drive" from what i can gather.
The Formula Ford (beginners car) in netKar was also the trickiest to drive.
It not the fact that your coasting, it's the approach to the coasting phase of the turn that will determine if you loose the rear end or not. How you brake, and more importantly how you come off the brake is absolutely crucial. Both the skippy and the FF1600 require very smooth transitions to keep things stable. I think that is what the so called training cars try and teach you..smoothness.
I hope someone that has driven these sorts of cars will confirm if that's the truth of the matter or not.
The Skippy, (a car i slagged off completely not that many posts ago with last seasons tyres) Is far, far nicer to drive now. It's back to being the fun car it always used to be.
Overall i'm very pleased with the progress in this build. C6R,DP,Ford GT, Williams and Skippy are all very good now. The Radical still needs a bit of work, but should be great next season i would think.
The NTM still doesn't feel as natural and instinctive to drive as netKar, but it has taken a massive step forward this build. I had just about given up on iRacing, but this build has brought me right back into it.
The Skippy is now a steaming pile of shite. It's a mess.
Quite frankly most cars on the NTM are shite. Some are slowly improving ( Honda) but most are getting worse (Skippy, MX-5)
Not saying the old tyre model is good, but the NTM is still in a right old state. If the rest of the road cars get it in the next build then i'm done with iRacing.
I'm not paying to beta test their broken tyre model, they have staff earning good money to do that.
If the game was designed to use fast travel there wouldn't be all those amazing random encounters you have whilst on the road, or all the locations you'll come across no other way but by exploring.
You miss loads of the best things Skyrim has to offer by fast traveling.
Each to their own of course. That's the great thing about sandbox games, play them how you like. I wouldn't be happy missing out on so much great stuff by speeding through it all though.
Have you set a date that you have to complete it by?
I don't care if it takes me until the end of 2012 to complete all the main quests. It's not a race
I'm only level 30 after 150 hours. I've not set foot on 1/3 of the map yet.
I never fast travel anywhere. Quests are almost secondary to just adventuring/exploring for me. I'll do a quest if it's in the general direction of where I've decided to wander.
I just don't understand how you can have completed all those quests in 51 hours. Seems impossible to me. Must just be: quest, fast travel, quest, fast travel, quest, fast travel.....
